Hiro Ouchi | Color Guard
Pacific Crest has always been about more than performance for wave maker Hiro Ouchi. A returning member from Rolling Hills Estates, CA, Hiro has found a second home within the Pacific Crest Color Guard, drawn in by the corps’ ability to tell powerful stories while building a community that feels like family.
Outside of Pacific Crest, Hiro excels in school as a brass and woodwind multi-instrumentalist, drum major, and color guard representative. Whether conducting, playing music, or spinning, collaboration and creativity remains at the center of everything he does.
What first inspired Hiro to join Pacific Crest was the corps’ reputation for storytelling. “I have always loved how Pacific Crest portrays stories,” Hiro shared. “It is the only world class Southern California corps, and I appreciate how much the Pacific Crest Color Guard continues to strive for excellence every year.”
Now, as a veteran member, Hiro has gotten to help bring those stories to life while competing at a world class level. “Even though we work hard to improve and succeed, the camaraderie and humor paired with dedication is what Pacific Crest is at its core,” Hiro said.
One of Hiro’s most meaningful Pacific Crest traditions comes each time the corps plays their corps song, “Ave Maria.” In those moments, the activity becomes something deeper than rehearsal reps or performances. “Every single time we play Ave Maria, I am reminded of how many people I have met through this organization that I consider my family,” he shared. “I consider Pacific Crest a home away from home.”
For Hiro, Pacific Crest continues to be a place where artistry, excellence, and belonging all move together in perfect harmony.
