Sierra Stark | Color Guard
Growing up in Fallbrook, California, Sierra Stark was surrounded by the Pacific Crest legacy long before she had the opportunity to wear the uniform. Her school’s band program has seen a steady stream of performers head to Pacific Crest over the years, with mentors and performers making the leap year after year. “My first captain, who’s now my director, marched with Pacific Crest,” she shares. “Then all the best from my program started going. It just became the place to be.”
That connection gave her an early opportunity to take the field with PC. When the corps hosted a color guard clinic at her high school, Sierra was offered a contract. She passed on the opportunity, but the experience stayed with her. Ahead of this season, she returned to audition and this time secured a spot with the 2026 color guard.
She didn’t have to wait long to feel like she belonged. “I’ve only been to a few clinics and camps so far, but I didn’t expect how immediately I was going to make friends,” Sierra says. “The corps gave me an instant sense of belonging. The energy is so positive, it’s contagious. Everyone is so kind and supportive…even when I’m spinning like a hot mess.”
Her mix of humility and humor is part of what makes Sierra such a natural fit in the guard. She’s already a leader back home—serving as a captain in her own program—but here, she’s embracing the role of learner, teammate, and performer all at once.
Outside of color guard, Sierra has a whole other world beneath the surface (literally!). She’s a certified scuba diver, trading rifles and flags for fins and deep blue water whenever she gets the chance.
From following in the footsteps of those who came before her to carving out her own place in the corps, Sierra’s journey here is just getting started.
