General Fund: Our Greatest Need!
Drum Corps tuition covers just 60% of program costs. Your gift to the Pacific Crest General Fund helps fill that gap to ensure that our students have what they need for a safe and successful season. With your support, our students can experience the summer of a lifetime!

Scholarship Funds
While we keep tuition as low as possible, the Pacific Crest experience is still out of reach for some students. When you make a gift to one of our scholarship funds, you directly impact one or more individuals — making it possible for them to participate this coming season. You also help keep the spirit alive for those honored by these scholarships.

A longtime biology professor at Fullerton College, Dr. Martin Rochford was the founding Board President of Pacific Crest Youth Arts Organization. In 1993, he purchased Pacific Crest’s first brass instruments, and he continued to support the corps in those early years by purchasing its first set of uniforms and additional horns as the corps grew in size. Martin’s son, Greg Rochford, was a founding instructor at Pacific Crest. Dr. Rochford passed away in 2016.
Lindsay Tanakaya was an enthusiastic performer, whose background included percussion positions at Lake Lindero Middle School, and a letterman at Agoura Hills HS. She graduated from Mt. Carmel HS in San Diego after two years in the Sun Devil Marching band, where she lettered in cymbals and snare drum. She also performed after high school with the Independent winter drumline Alternative Percussion “ALT” in San Diego as a member and section leader of the cymbals.
As Drum Major for Pacific Crest in 2008 and 2009, Zachary Robert Headden demonstrated leadership, teamwork and a strong work ethic. With his passion for music, teaching, and developing others, Zach’s participation with Pacific Crest was a significant life experience for him.
Don and Judy Gunderson were a vital part of music education in Southern California for over 65 years. They began their support of Pacific Crest in 1997 when their son, Mark, joined the PC staff. Until recently, Don served as a board member, consistently bringing solutions to the table. Each morning during the summer DCI season, Don checked scores from the previous night’s shows, closely following and celebrating Pacific Crest’s World Class journey.
The General Scholarship Fund allows the organization to award need-based aid to students struggling to pay their Drum and Bugle Corps fees. Students complete an application demonstrating their need, and a panel of individuals distributes awards based on need and availability of funds.
