PATRICE JONES is a highly requested Health & Wellness Coach with a background in Music Therapy, Music Performance, Psychology, and Health & Wellness Coaching. Currently based in Austin, TX, Patrice worked as a Certified Health & Wellness Coach/Team Coordinator for Santa Clara Vanguard, overseeing the health and wellness of the SCV Cadets as they trained and won the Open Class division in Indianapolis in 2022. Patrice is trained in and experienced at evaluating physical, emotional, and mental complaints, designing plans of treatment, administering certain chiropractic treatments, and recommending other alternative and complementary methods of holistic treatment appropriate to the environment such as meditation and grounding for health and wellbeing. Additionally, she is certified in nutrition and exercise physiology.
Outside of this role, Patrice also runs Patrice Jones Coaching, where she has personally helped dozens of clients find their version of success and wellbeing. As a Certified Professional Coach trained at the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching (iPEC) and the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS), Patrice is certified in Wellbeing, Transitions, and Performance coaching – everything a drum corps member needs as they embark on this very demanding, different, and rewarding way of life. In her non-drum-corps life, Patrice works with people with chronic illnesses (both physical and mental) who wish to continue or improve various areas in the presence of conditions that impact every aspect of their life.
Patrice is also a professionally-trained Collaborative Pianist who has accompanied hundreds of instrumentalists, vocalists, and groups over the past 30 years. She is a certified performance coach who works with musicians of all ages and abilities and helps them with diction, intonation, expression, ensemble playing, performance, and fear. Drum corps is near and dear to her heart as a former front ensemble player and percussionist.
Prior to these roles, Patrice was a member of the U.S. Army Band where she played piano, oboe, English horn, percussion, and euphonium/tuba. She also did gymnastics, dance, and two years of winter guard in high school. As such, she is uniquely qualified to assess and treat injuries and complaints of all drum corps members. Her BM in Music Therapy, BS in Psychology, and coaching certifications prepared her to address mental health in the current social environment. She will work with a member’s home mental health provider to ensure members continue using the customized plans laid out by those professionals that know the member best. Patrice is looking forward to working with the members and staff of the Pacific Crest Drum Corps!
