Tyler Dahl is a tuba player from Southern California whose marching career began with the Redondo Union High School Band. It was here that Tyler developed a deep fascination for all things marching band, which inspired him to pursue a degree in music education at the University of North Texas.
During his undergraduate studies, Tyler performed with a wide variety of ensembles and taught local marching bands, including the UNT Green Brigade and Flower Mound High School Band. Under the mentorship of faculty members such as Don Little and David Childs, he learned a range of techniques for teaching brass players.
Throughout his education, Tyler had the privilege of marching with several drum and bugle corps from 2018 to 2024, experiencing all levels of the activity. He began in Open Class and eventually won a DCI World Championship in 2023 with the Blue Devils. Tyler also had the honor of marching with Pacific Crest from 2019 to 2020, where the brass and visual staff played a key role in shaping him into the performer he is today.
Teaching with Pacific Crest marks the beginning of Tyler’s drum corps teaching career, and he is excited to return to this cherished organization in a new role.
