Nick Rodriguez, born in Miami, Florida, and raised in Pembroke Pines, Florida, began his color guard journey at Charles W. Flanagan High School in 2011. He graduated in 2013, serving as captain during his final year. While performing with Flanagan’s World Guard, his team achieved remarkable success, earning a Scholastic Bronze Medal, Scholastic Silver Medal, and Scholastic Gold Medal at the WGI World Championships.
As an educator, Nick has traveled extensively, contributing to world-class programs across Florida, Ohio, Georgia, and Texas. He has worked with numerous esteemed groups, including Flanagan High School, Miamisburg High School, Bellbrook High School, Stoneman Douglas High School, Hebron High School, Claudia Taylor Johnson High School, Park Vista High School, Timber Creek High School, North Gwinnett High School, Braddock Independent, Malachi Independent, Relentless Independent, Carolina Crown Drum & Bugle Corps, Pacific Crest Drum & Bugle Corps, and many local high school groups in South Florida.
Nick’s drum corps experience began with the Boston Crusaders in 2012. He went on to march with Carolina Crown from 2013 to 2015, perform with Crown Japan in 2014, join the Santa Clara Vanguard in 2016, and age out with The Blue Devils in 2017. During his time in drum corps, his groups achieved significant accolades, including a Silver Medal and two Gold Medals at the DCI World Championships.
In the winter guard arena, Nick has performed with several notable organizations, including Southlake High School (2010), Flanagan World (2011–2013), Braddock Independent World (2014), and The Pride of Cincinnati (2015 and 2016). While performing with Pride of Cincinnati, the team earned a WGI Independent World Bronze Medal and Gold Medal.
Currently, Nick serves as the proud Director of Guards and Designer for Flanagan High School’s Winter and Fall programs, a role he has held since 2020. He is also the Co-Founder and Creative Director of Relentless Independent. Residing in Plantation, Florida, Nick balances his professional commitments with his passion for health and fitness as a cycling instructor at CycleBar in Davie, Florida, where he leads 45-minute full-body cycling workouts.
Nick cherishes his life in South Florida, which he shares with his partner, family, and furry companions. He is excited to bring his expertise and creativity to the Pacific Crest organization for a second summer.
