EVAN JOHNSON is a freelance musician and music educator that has lived and worked throughout the United States, performing a variety of styles and teaching students of all ages and skill levels.
A trombone player, Evan originally began taking music lessons in 2005 before beginning undergraduate studies at Jacksonville State University in 2007 under Dr. James Roberts. In 2014 he completed his Master’s of Music in Trombone Performance from University of Arkansas while studying under Dr. Cory Mixdorf before spending four years in pursuit of a Doctor of Musical Arts degree in Trombone Performance and Pedagogy at University of Colorado Boulder under Dr. William Stanley.
Throughout his studies, Evan has made regular appearances as a performer in various orchestras, quintets, wind bands, big bands, jazz combos, salsa bands, and new music ensembles, while also maintaining students as a private teacher.
Evan currently resides in Madison, WI.
