Drew Marquez | Brass
For Drew Marquez, performing with Pacific Crest is about more than music—it’s about belonging to a unique community. A brass section veteran from Fullerton, California, Drew balances his time with Pacific Crest alongside high school classes, theater, winter percussion, and fall marching band. It’s a full schedule, fueled by a love for performing.
Drew’s journey with Pacific Crest began when he watched the 2024 production, “The Broken Column”, from the stands. Inspired by the music of that show—and encouraged when two of his friends decided to audition for 2025—he decided to take the leap as well. After earning a spot in the baritone section and spending his first season with the corps, Drew has had a chance to reflect on his experience with Pacific Crest so far. “The staff is way friendlier and more willing to coach than I expected,” Drew shared, highlighting the supportive culture that continues to shape his experience.
One moment stands out above the rest: earning a standing ovation at Allentown and Semifinals at Lucas Oil Stadium during his 2025 summer tour. For Drew, it was a powerful affirmation of the hard work, long rehearsals, and collective dedication of the corps—a feeling he’s excited to relive again in 2026.
Fun fact: Drew has been a Pokémon fan since age six.
