Andrew Quintanar | Brass
Andrew Quintanar’s road to Pacific Crest started in the stands. In 2022, he saw his first Pacific Crest show at the Rose Bowl Stadium, just a short drive away from his hometown of North Hollywood, CA. He returned to watch the corps each year, but it was the 2024 production The Broken Column that sealed it for him. “When I first saw PC in 2024, I knew where I wanted to march next!” he said. After practicing hard with this goal in mind, he earned a spot in the 2026 Pacific Crest mellophone section.
So far, rehearsals at Pacific Crest have felt familiar in the best way. Having marched with Gold in 2024, Andrew came in prepared. The biggest difference so far? “PC has a brass arc, while Gold has a brass circle,” he laughed. Sometimes it’s the little details that remind you you’re somewhere new.
Outside of drum corps, Andrew attends community college, spends time with friends and family, and—of course—practices as much as possible. Music isn’t just a summer activity for him. He also marched with the Trojan Marching Band at USC this past fall, despite not being a student at the university. He is proud to be part of their mellophone section as well.
From the stands at the Rose Bowl to the field in 2026, Andrew’s journey has come full circle.
