Russ Tanakaya
Media Team Manager
Russ is Pacific Crest’s media coordinator and lead photographer, now in his tenth year serving the corps. He was elected to the PCYAO Board of Directors in 2018.
In addition to his photography for Pacific Crest, Russ is a featured artist for the internet magazine Drum Corps World, and for DCI. He is a self-professed “Huge Pacific Crest Fan”. The Tanakaya family annually offers scholarships to assist members with their tuition in memory of Russ’ daughter, Lindsay.
Mr. Tanakaya is a 43 year veteran of the hotel business, having retired from his General Management position with Embassy Suites in 2021. He continues his passion of portrait and event photography at Russell M. Tanakaya Photography, where he primarily works for donations to his beloved organization – Pacific Crest!
