Aya Strauss

AYA STRAUSS is a marching percussion educator, arranger, and performer based in Torrance, California. She currently works at North HS (Percussion Director and Arranger), Mira Costa HS (Battery Caption Head), Gahr HS (Battery Instructor), and Gold Indoor Percussion (Snare Instructor). Her previous teaching and arranging experience includes Gold Drum and Bugle Corps (Snare Instructor), Elan Percussion (Snare Instructor), Palisades Charter HS (Battery Caption Head), Santa Monica HS (Battery Caption Head and Arranger), and Savanna HS (Battery Caption Head).
Aya’s marching experience includes WGI World Champions Broken City Percussion (2019), POW Percussion (2018), Dark Sky Percussion (2016-2017), Open Class Champions Vanguard Cadets (2017), Pacific Crest (2015), and Gold Drum and Bugle Corps (2014).
Aya attended UCLA from 2014-2018, where she received a degree in cognitive science and was a member of the UCLA Bruin Marching Band. Aya currently performs with the LA Chargers Thunderbolt Drumline and Sidle Entertainment, and is a proud member of the Vic Firth educational team.
