Pacific Crest is proud to introduce our drum major team for the 2021 season: Bianca Dulong, Ashley Kocour, and Thanh Bui!
Returning for her fifth and final season with Pacific Crest is Head Drum Major Bianca Dulong (20 years old from Manhattan Beach, CA). She marched in the hornline on mellophone from 2017 – 2018 and participated in the Pacific Crest Rose Parade Ensemble in 2019. She has been a Drum Major at Pacific Crest ever since. Prior to her drum corps experience, Bianca was a Drum Major, flute and mellophone player at Mira Costa High School. Bianca currently attends California State Polytechnic University, Pomona as a Kinesiology major (Pre-Med). When asked about the 2021 season, Bianca said, “I am most looking forward to spending time with my friends while creating a stunning production for everyone to enjoy. We’ve been without live art for far too long!”
Assistant Drum Major Ashley Kocour (20 years old from Palm Desert, CA) is also returning to the Drum Major team for the 2021 season. This will be her fourth season with Pacific Crest, having spent 2018-2019 as a euphonium performer (small ensemble trombonist in PC’s 2019 production Everglow) before becoming a Drum Major in 2020. Prior to her drum corps experience, Ashley was Drum Major and trombone player at Shadow Hills High School. Ashley currently attends California State University, Fullerton as a Music Performance major while also pursuing her teaching credential. Regarding the upcoming 2021 season, Ashley said, “I am most looking forward to seeing the creativity brought to this activity, creating an enjoyable, entertaining, and educational experience for members and fans alike.”
Entering her first season with Pacific Crest is Assistant Drum Major Thanh Bui (19 years old from Palmdale, CA). Prior to joining Pacific Crest, she attended the 2018 Pacific Crest Drum Major Camp during her time as a high school Drum Major at Quartz Hill High School. Thanh was also a flute player and participated in the 2017 and 2018 Tournament of Roses Honor Band. She currently attends the University of California, San Diego as an Economics Major and Music minor (Pre-Law). About the 2021 season, Thanh said, “I am looking forward to being a part of bringing live marching music back to the community!”
