The Moreno Valley Unified School District Board Member is an ardent supporter of music education.
Jesus Holguin is the Financial Analyst for the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools. He also serves as President of the Board of Education at the Moreno Valley Unified School District.
“It’s a great honor for me to be chosen to serve on the Pacific Crest Board of Directors,” says Holguin. “I welcome the opportunity to contribute to the mission of the great organization by bringing to the position the perspective of a School Board member who is especially supportive of arts education, and opening doors for youth to develop their artistic, competitive and leadership skills.”
Jesus Holguin is the 2016 Immediate Past President of the California School Boards Association, and has served on the CSBA executive committee since 2012.
Holguin has also served as a board member in the Moreno Valley Unified School District since 2002. Committed to providing a quality education to the children of his community, Holguin has also served as president of the Riverside County School Boards Association, president of the Moreno Valley Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and board member of ACCESS to the Future. In addition, he has been an officer of the California Latino School Board Members Association for a number of years. Holguin has spent over 17 years involved in school and district-level parent groups, including PTA, Site Council, Year round, GATE, High School Curriculum, Safety Task Force committees and the Booster Club. He also provides translation services for Spanish-speaking audiences at board meetings.
Employed by the San Bernardino County Superintendent of Schools for over 29 years, Holguín has extensive experience in school finance. He earned his Bachelor of Science in business administration/accounting from California State University, San Bernardino.
