TYLER STEWART is a percussionist, educator, and audio engineer based in Richardson, Texas. He studied Percussion at Marshall University in Huntington, West Virginia and Audio Engineering at Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee. Tyler has managed pageantry audio, arranged, taught, and played for the last 15 years with various groups from West Virginia, Ohio, Tennessee, and Texas. For the last 5 years, he has served as the Assistant Percussion Director for the Wylie East High School Cluster and the Private Percussion Lessons teacher for the Wylie High School Cluster.
Over the years, Tyler has worked with many percussion ensembles, including Cap City Indoor Percussion, Audio Theater Indoor Percussion, and Pioneer Drum Corps. He performed with Gateway Percussion in 2013, as well as 2014 Music City Drum Corps from 2010 through 2011. Outside of the marching arts, Tyler has played drums for multiple musical theater productions as well as with the Huntington Symphony Orchestra. In his spare time, he plays freelance.
As an audio engineer, Tyler has worked in recording studios, designed and operated live sound systems, and managed Audio and Video for large scale meetings and corporate events. He served as one of the first Audio Engineers at Rudy’s Jazz Room in Nashville, Tennessee. There he mixed the Front of House for the likes of the Wooten Family, Bob Reynolds, Jeff Berlin, and many more. In the studio, Tyler assisted in the production of the albums One Drop of Truth from the Wood Brothers and Cardinal from Nature Airliner.
When Tyler isn’t working, he loves to spend his free time taking long walks, exploring neighborhoods, and sipping on fine coffees and wines with his partner, Gail. He is also the proud cat parent of the three silly cats: Sombra, C.C., and Cleo.
