In her educational career, Ms. Higgins has taken on numerous instructional roles, including Color Guard Director, Choreographer, Designer, and Technician, contributing to the success of several programs across Texas. These roles have involved teaching foundational and advanced movement techniques, assisting in technique and training, and collaborating with staff to implement show designs. Her work in these previous positions led to significant program awards and programs achieving State Finalist status. Ms. Higgins is enthusiastic about continuing to lead and inspire the future generations of color guard.
Tatiana Higgins is the Color Guard Director at Iowa Colony High School, a position she has held since July 2022. In this role, she is responsible for designing and implementing choreography, routines, and visuals, as well as instructing and training members on proper performance techniques. Under her leadership, the Iowa Colony Color Guard has achieved significant success since being established in 2022, including being named 1st place Novice Champions in 2023 and Regional A 1st place Champions in 2025. Currently, she also serves as a Color Guard Choreographer at Clements High School.
Ms. Higgins has extensive experience instructing at the competitive independent and Drum Corps International levels. She also serves as Color Guard Staff for Undaunted Independent, where she monitors show quality and focuses on building performers’ confidence and stage presence. The Undaunted Independent ensemble has achieved notable success, reaching WGI Semi-finalists status in 2023, 2024, and 2025. Ms. Higgins previously served on the Color Guard Staff for Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps from November 2022 to August 2024. She also worked with the Seattle Cascades Drum and Bugle Corps in 2025. Her performance background includes marching with Undaunted Independent Open (2020-2023) and aging out with the Mandarins Drum and Bugle Corps (2022).
