Visual Instructor
NABRA ASGEDOM is an instructor, clinician, visual designer, and arranger based in the Atlanta metro area.
Nabra is a first-generation American whose family immigrated from Ethiopia. He was born and raised in Northern Virginia, and found an early passion for music and the marching arts while growing up around the performing ensembles in the area. He took private lessons from George Mason tuba professor Dr. David Porter and learned trombone to play in jazz ensembles.
Throughout his marching career, he marched Blue Stars and Bluecoats as a contra player and has participated in both alumni corps. While in Virginia, he studied mechanical engineering with a minor in music at Virginia Tech. After graduating from Virginia Tech, Nabra moved to South Carolina and quickly became involved in numerous marching groups and events in the area.
After moving to South Carolina, Nabra has served as a clinician for the Bands Across the Savannah (BATS) and Celebration of Bands Clinic, as an adjudicator, and a choreographer for multiple marching band and indoor drumline groups, and as a low brass instructor. He was also on the visual team for Atlanta CV Drum and Bugle Corps (2025) prior to moving to the Atlanta metro area.
Nabra is currently the Visual Co-Caption Head for Civitas Independent Indoor Drumline in Percussion Independent World Class (PIW) after joining the ensemble and getting 2nd in Percussion Independent Open Class (2024). He’s also an active drill writer for indoor drumline & marching band, a choreographer, and a private lesson instructor for music and drum corps preparation across the southeast.
