NIC MONTELL is a multi-instrumentalist and audio engineer from Los Angeles, California. Nic started his marching career in the Charter Oak High School Marching Regiment. He went on to study Music Industry at Cal Poly Pomona, performing in a variety of ensembles as a flautist, bassist, and percussionist. Nic’s performance experience includes the RCC Marching Tigers, RCC Indoor Drumline, the Blue Devils International Corps, the Rose Parade Banner Swing Band, and Odyssey Indoor Percussion. Nic has worked as a percussion educator and designer across the San Gabriel Valley for the past decade. He currently teaches at La Puente High School and Glendora High School. Nic has been an audio engineer and front ensemble instructor for Meraki Percussion since its inception. In addition to the marching arts, Nic has served as a jazz coach at Ayala High School and Azusa High School. Nic previously worked as a handpan maker at Oasis Sound Sculpture.
