Pacific Crest is thrilled to announce the exceptional leaders who will guide the corps on the field in 2025. After a rigorous audition process, we proudly introduce this year’s drum majors: Justine Nava, Cassandra Anderson, Adam Grey, and Julia Framan.
Head Drum Major Justine Nava (Whittier, CA) returns for her third year with Pacific Crest and her fourth and final year in DCI. She is currently studying both Political Science and Music Education, building on the musical and leadership skills she developed at California High School, where she played clarinet and baritone saxophone and served as drum major. Justine also contributes to the marching arts community as a member of the instructional staff at Silent Command, a leadership and educational consulting service. As she enters her final season, Justine is eager to “learn, grow, make history, and leave a legacy behind when I age out.”
Returning for her second and final season with Pacific Crest is Drum Major Cassandra Anderson (Beaverton, OR). Cassandra is currently studying nursing at Linfield University, and previously played alto saxophone and served as a Drum Major for the Linfield Marching Band. In high school, Cassandra marched flute for three seasons before serving as a Drum Major for her final year. She is grateful for the opportunity to “continue to grow and create memories with such a wonderful and talented family of performers.”
After marching in the Pacific Crest hornline in 2024, Adam Grey (Prescott, AZ) joins the drum major team for the 2025 season. A graduate of Prescott High School, Adam marched alto saxophone as a junior and served as co-drum major during his senior year. He was an active musician in his school’s jazz ensemble (alto saxophone) and concert band (tuba and bari saxophone). As a freshman at Northern Arizona University, he is currently studying Biology with plans to pursue a career in emergency medicine, while also performing as a marching tuba player with the NAU Lumberjack Marching Band and participating in the Air Force ROTC program. Adam looks forward to expanding his leadership skills, learning from Pacific Crest’s experienced staff, and strengthening his bond with Pacific Crest members in 2025.
Joining Pacific Crest for her first season is Julia Framan (Chino Hills, CA). A graduate of Chino Hills High School, Julia served as drum major for two years and played both flute and trombone throughout her high school career. She also competed in individual drum major competitions through the Student Academy of Musical Leaders (SAML), showcasing her skills in conducting, military baton spinning, and mace. Additionally, Julia earned a spot and performed in the 2023 Rose Parade with the Pasadena City College Tournament of Roses Honor Band. She is currently studying Music Education and Flute Performance at the University of Redlands. Julia is excited to connect with new people and further develop her leadership skills during her debut season with Pacific Crest.
