Following a comprehensive audition process, Pacific Crest is proud to announce our drum major team for the 2023 season: Amy Johnson, Bridget Barragy, Justine Nava, and Steven Medina!
Drum Major Amy Johnson (Meridian, ID) returns for her third and final season with Pacific Crest. Amy was previously contracted as a euphonium performer in 2020, and went on to serve as a Drum Major in 2022. She is in her junior year at Boise State University studying Environmental Studies, while also serving as the BSU Blue Thunder Marching Band’s Drum Major. In anticipation of the 2023 season, Amy says, “I’m looking forward to making memories with my best friends this summer one last time!”
Returning for her second season with Pacific Crest is Drum Major Bridget Barragy (Houston, TX). She currently attends the University of Texas at Austin where she is pursuing a degree in Plant Biology. During high school, Bridget participated in marching band as a flute performer and served as a Drum Major for her last two years. In 2023, Bridget is eager for “the new challenges and opportunities in store for the corps and getting to know all the new faces joining our family!”
Returning for a fifth season with Pacific Crest, Steven Medina (Buckeye, AZ) has joined the Drum Major team for 2023. Steven marched euphonium for Pacific Crest from 2018 – 2020, and again in 2022. He also participated in the 2019 Pacific Crest Rose Parade Ensemble. Steven is currently studying Music Education at the University of Redlands, where he plays bass trombone in the symphonic band and jazz ensemble. Prior to college, Steven attended Alta Loma High School where he played trombone, flute, and euphonium. Of the 2023 season, Steven says, “I am looking forward to aging out with the people I call family and welcoming all the new members to our community.”
Entering her first season with the Pacific Crest Drum Major team is Justine Nava (Whittier, CA). She is a freshman at Rio Hondo College majoring in Political Science, and is returning to serve for her second season of DCI after her time with Blue Devils B. Prior to college, Justine was a clarinet, baritone sax, and Drum Major at California High School. She looks forward to “performing alongside so many individuals who are dedicated and passionate about their craft, and who share a love for the art.”
