KYLE MARX is the Associate Director of Bands at Klein Oak High School in Spring, Texas. During his time at Klein Oak, the band has performed at the UIL 6A State Marching Band Contest and has been a Bands of America Regional Finalist, both for the first time in the school’s history. His concert bands at Klein Oak have twice been Commended from the Citation of Excellence program from the Foundation for Music Education.
Prior to being at Klein Oak, Kyle was the assistant band director at Weiss High School in Pflugerville, Texas. While there, the 2nd-year school made the Bands of America St. Louis Super Regional Finals, making them the youngest school ever to make a Super Regional Finals.
Originally from central Ohio, Kyle attended Ohio University where he graduated Cum Laude with a degree in Music Education. After graduation, Kyle moved to Houston, Texas to begin his teaching career at Westfield High School in Spring ISD.
Kyle has also had extensive involvement in the drum corps activity, which began by marching for the Madison Scouts for three summers. After aging out, Kyle taught on visual staff at The Troopers, Blue Knights, Phantom Regiment and The Crossmen.
Outside of his primary job at Klein Oak, Kyle is an active Consultant, Adjudicator, Choreographer, Drill Designer, and Clinician in Houston and across Texas.
Kyle is very excited and humbled to join the team at Pacific Crest.
