Pacific Crest is pleased to share that Tony White has been elected to the organization’s Board of Directors.
A nationally-recognized leader in music education and an accomplished musician, White has had an immeasurable impact on music students throughout the Los Angeles region. In his position as Coordinator, Music & Entertainment Education for the Beyond the Bell Branch of the LAUSD, he works extensively with before and after school arts programs, recruiting educators and helping students find career opportunities in the music industry.
White has also enjoyed a long history with the Los Angeles-based All City Marching Band, which he has worked with—in various supporting and leadership roles—for 22 years. As Head Director, he rehearses the All City Jazz Band and the All City Marching Band for a schedule of appearances each year, including the famed Tournament of Roses Parade.
Pacific Crest CEO Stuart Pompel eagerly welcomes White to the Board of Directors. “While the drum corps is our flagship program at Pacific Crest, we want to continue finding ways to help support the music educators in Southern California and their students,” said Pompel. “There is so much more we can—and should—do, and I am excited to work with Tony on projects that make a real difference for as many students as possible in our region.”
“I’m looking forward to working with the Board of Pacific Crest Youth Arts Organization,” White said of his new role. “It is one of my lifelong missions to help give students powerful performing arts experiences. I believe deeply in what PCYAO stands for, and stand ready to assist with the upcoming seasons.”
