The Rose Bowl Stadium is the home field of the UCLA Bruin Marching Band. This past summer, the Solid Gold Sound — under the direction of Gordon Henderson — threw its support behind the Pacific Crest Outreach Program, making it possible for 100 high school band students to attend the show free of charge.
The sponsorship was a perfect fit, according to Pacific Crest CEO, Stuart Pompel. “The UCLA Bruins Marching Band is known around the world. Seeing them give back to their community in this way is really inspiring.”
The Solid Gold Sound of the UCLA Bruin Marching Band is a 250-piece ensemble that performs at home UCLA football games and in smaller contingents at a variety of other collegiate sports events, band festivals, and private gigs of national and international scope.
Pacific Crest thanks and recognizes Gordon Henderson, who directed the Bruin Marching Band from 1982 – 2019. And we congratulate Kevin McKeown, the Band’s 2019 Interim Director.
