Program Coordinator Mark Gunderson has tapped John Meehan to lead the design of the musical production for the 2014 season. This will mark John’s third season with Pacific Crest. He will once again arrange the brass scores, but will also bring together a team to produce the percussion arrangements and electronics effects and soundscapes. He takes over for Jeff Lee, who has been with corps for three years, the last two serving as Music Director and Percussion Arranger.
“My first two years working with the staff and members of Pacific Crest have been extremely rewarding,” explained Meehan. “I can’t wait to take on these new responsibilities and see what we can accomplish in 2014!”
“In the coming week, the 2014 creative team will be announced,” explained Executive Director Stuart Pompel, “but it’s important to pause and recognize Jeff’s stewardship in helping us fully realize our design philosophy and affecting the corps in so many positive ways. I also want to thank Pete Sapadin for his percussion arranging talents these past two seasons. These guys are pros, and we are grateful for their contributions to our recent success!”
