A native of Southern California and long-time resident of the Inland Empire, Dario Quiñonez began his color guard career at Canyon Springs High School, where he performed from 2010 to 2013. He marched with The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps for two seasons, in 2012 and 2013, and completed his final field season with the RCC Marching Tigers in 2015. Following this, Dario took a four-year hiatus from color guard to focus on dance training.
In 2018, Dario had the opportunity to travel to Voronezh, Russia, where he trained in the Vaganova method of ballet as well as in pas de deux, character dance, modern dance, and historical court dance. Shortly after returning, he decided to revisit his passion for color guard and auditioned for Fantasia Winterguard in 2020. Although his debut WGI season was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Dario continued dancing and coaching until he was ready to return amidst the challenges of the pandemic.
Dario joined the Crossmen Color Guard as a technician during the 2022 season. In 2023, he fulfilled his dream of completing a WGI season with Fantasia Winterguard, performing in the show Love and Lament; Together Still. Following the season, he relocated to San Diego, where he began coaching color guard at San Diego State University.
In 2024, Dario performed with Vox Artium World and proudly embraced his identity as a “Vox Fox.” He continues to coach at Mira Mesa High School and is currently in his second year marching with Vox Artium for the 2025 season.
